Hilton Garden Inn New Braunfels

Plenty well-lit parking. The staff were friendly during our weekend stay in August 2023. We were able to check-in about 90 minutes early which was nice (1:20pm instead of 3:00pm). When needed 2 blankets and they were same to sure When we booked we got the vouchers for the breakfast buffet. It was great (didn’t include waffles or made-to-order omelets). It was delicious nonetheless. I based my 5 star experience on Hilton Garden Inn and similar hotels. I didn’t pay JW Marriott Resort Pricing so that’s not the scale.

Our room had a funky smell, but was clean & cool. Disappointed that the price seemed to be almost double. Y the time all the fees & taxes were added on. Check-in staff was friendly & informative. The check out was flat. They were out of coffee and I got a "I'll let them know..." For the price , there should have been a complimentary breakfast.

Stayed three nights! Location was great for water park and tubing but service front desk staff sucks! I went to the front desk to get extra pillows- they were flatter than the ones in the room. I asked for better pillows and was told they had none. I checked out the following morning. I would never do business with Hilton garden inn.

Lets start when I first walked in to the hotel there was two employees at the front desk not one of them said a word or greeted me and my family. Having the self check in and out was nice and convenient but it was very difficult sharing the key with my partner and the wifi was terrible. The floors in my room were dirty . The bottoms of our feet were black after walking around the carpet floors so I can tell they don't shampoo the carpets. I pulled out the couch pullout bed and under the mattress I saw rust stains from the springs. It was a very thin uncomfortable mattress for my kids. The other Queen beds were ok. Watch your legs and knees the way the edges of the bed stick out if you aren't careful you will hit your knee caps. The blinds and drapes don't close all the way so if your on the pool side of the hotel the sun will come through bright and early. The black out curtains don't cover the whole window. The ac was very loud and made a loud noise all night. Was difficult to get sleep because it was turning on and off through out the night. I noticed the pool had a green color to it so we didn't use it. I would not stay there ever again. I feel the price is not worth what they were charging.

Reserved 4 days paid in full. Staff very professional, cleaning staff spoke English. However my granddaughters love to swim. After all the tourist things we wanted to come back and swim. Pool is green and has been. No manager has been on site since we've been here. I think staff felt helpless because we really complained about this. Hotel needs some updating and mattresses are so terrible even the kids complained. One slept on the floor. Hilton used to be a consistent place to stay but now they are independently owed. I would check ownership in Texas. If it's owned by the Patel family, I'd choose elsewhere. Seriously unacceptable for the price.

The service staff were okay. However the young lady that checked us in did not add our Gold member selection, after asking me twice. So as we used the SHOP it was added to my account and when I checked out I assumed the $20 per day allowance would kick in. I did not, I had to call at least three times to fix this issue, the manager I believe her name was Shery was very apologetic and helpful. This is not the first time I have had billing issues here. It was a family quarterly routine to drive from Austin and stay at this Garden Inn. When you walk in the rooms you smell mold and the energy has changed. It’s just old and with all of the financial errors, we will just stay somewhere else. It was so many good memories here, but I’m tired of being an accountant days after my stays here. The mold is really bad, I returned with a sore throat and stuffiness.
